Dang it Grandma!

First of all...  Banana Oat Bread

It is another bleeping bread recipe.  A banana bread with yeast.  Whole makes a yeasted banana bread recipe?  Really?  Apparently this is thing.  There goes my evening.  Probably.
But here I go.

Can you buy just 1 banana?  That is all I need.  Just one.  Is there some rule you have to buy a bunch?  Can I just steal one from the kiddie basket and adopt a rugrat from the aisles?

Turns out I am too chicken to try...  So I have bananas for impromptu blender experiments at 6 in the morning

Second this is a recipe written by someone's grandma who thinks I know what I am doing.  I love bread.  I love different types of bread.  There is a reason that I buy bread instead of making it.  Too many things that can go wrong.

Literally here are the directions that grandma gives me.

1. Blend wet ingredients. (Is a banana a wet or dry ingredient?  I am guessing wet)
2. Add dry.  (Well here goes the yeast.  How old is it?  Date on package is still good... barely.  So with my luck it is dead)
3.  Knead well. (Got it)
4. Let rise (how long?  double in size is usually good, but I have a bedtime, will give it no more than 2 hours.)
5.  Beat down, mold and bake.  (Once again up to me... I am getting good at guessing)

Damn, that is one dense loaf.  3 choices... it is supposed to be dense (nope), the yeast is dead (likely) or I screwed up some other way. (most likely)

Taste time... recipe says it tastes better toasted... will try later

It is cooked through, Hollywood would be proud about that.  But it is dense.  I need to buy new yeast.
Or a game of street hockey is in the works.

UGH... this is the most boring bread I have ever eaten.  It is a congealed then dried bowl of oatmeal.  The banana is lost.  I am out of the tent, no hand shake, and will be luck if I get "this is a mess".

I am not blaming the recipe entirely, I could have screwed up in a million places with Grandma Know-it-all's recipe... but I am happy pushing the delete button tonight.

Maybe if I soak it in brandy Prue will save me...  Nope.

THEME SONG 9/25/19

Do not have to actually listen to this schmultzy  blah song... but Name, Title, and blahness perfectly match this recipe
